Amy’s Plate Adventure

Product Design

To answer the brief about innovation for reducing food waste with illustration, this project was curated for children under 5 years old who are still exploring food. By emphasising on improving the eating experience through a storybook eating mat, this product will teach about eating habits to prevent any more food waste. Using brightly coloured illustrations and a fun storyline, children will be motivated to complete their journey and eat what has been prepared by their parents.

How It Works:

Amy’s Plate Adventure is designed as storybook illustration pages. It features a narrative about a girl going on a journey to her parents’ house. Along the way, she crosses a river, picks stars, and helps a hedgehog.

Parents prepare sliced vegetables or fruits and place them on designated dots printed on the mat, which act as guides for food placement. Once the child finishes the food on the first page, the next mat is served, continuing the story. This approach promotes curiosity and engagement, encouraging children to complete their meals with the excitement.
