PAMALI
Photography, Publication

“Don’t stick your chopstick in your food!” Ever wonder whether the superstitions our parents told us were true? This project wanted to highlight the passed-down traditions of the Chinese family. The title “Pamali” portrays cultural taboo by illustrating the action and its believed effect in a series of tableau photographs. Through the staged scenario, the photographer hopes to recall the culture that started to fade slowly due to evolving times.

After all, maybe people made those superstitions with a reason. FYI, the lighting bulb broke during the photoshoot. In addition, the model and photographer experience bad luck throughout the year.
